Read our frequently asked questions to find out useful information for your stay at Eco Soul Ericeira Guesthouse

1. Do I need a car when staying at Ericeira?

Yes. To have more flexibility and make the most of your holidays, we recommend renting a car. Ericeira is an extensive area with several beaches. The most emblematic ones, such as Ribeira D´ilhas, Coxos, São Lourenço and São Julião, are in the surroundings of the village. Renting a car provides freedom. If one day the weather is not good for the beach, you can take the opportunity to visit other places that are less than an hour away from Eco Soul Ericeira Guesthouse, such as Lisbon, Sintra, Cascais, Mafra, Óbidos, Peniche, among others. For this reason, we definitely recommend renting a car.

2. Is parking available?

Yes. The parking is free. No possibility to book. It is on the same sidewalk as the Guesthouse. We ask our guests to park perpendicular to the Guesthouse wall, so that all guests can enjoy this service. Be careful not to park in front of our neighbours’ garage.

3. From what time can I enter the Guesthouse on the day of arrival?

The check-in is from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

4. Can I leave my bags at the Guesthouse before check-in?

For security reasons, we cannot receive your luggage before check-in.

5. Is there a tourist information service and reservation of restaurants and activities such as surfing, yoga, bike rides or wine tasting?

Yes. We will be happy to take care of everything for you. We are available in person at the Guesthouse from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. After this time, you can contact us by phone: +351 93 4984922 and +351 93 4984912.

6. What time can I have breakfast?

Breakfast is served from 8:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. always by appointment. There is a black board where you can see the availability and choose the time of your preference daily. For safety and health reasons due to Covid-19, we serve a maximum of four people per shift. If you wish, you can order breakfast to take away, when requested 24 hours in advance.

7. Is there a bar where I can have cold drinks, wine or coffee?

We offer an Honesty Bar service from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. with cold drinks, snacks and wines. We trust the honesty of our guests. For that reason, the bar will be open for customers to serve themselves. It is the guest’s responsibility to record their consumption in the registration book so that at the end of their stay it will be charged. The rooms have tea and coffee facilities.

8. Is there a kitchen I can use?

The guesthouse does not have a kitchen for the use of guests. Kitchen and barbecue area are for the exclusive use of the staff or for previously arranged events. Kitchen utensils are not available.

9. Does the guesthouse have a beach towel rental service?

Yes. Beach towels are at your disposal upon deposit of 10 euros. The cost of towel rental is 3 euros per use, which will be deducted from your deposit when you return the towel.

10. Can I ask for a check-out after 12 p.m.?

No. On the day of departure, guests must leave the Guesthouse at the latest 12 p.m. so that we can carry out the cleaning service.

11. Can I smoke inside the Guesthouse?

Smoking is not allowed inside the Guesthouse, neither in rooms, private balconies and terraces. Smoking is allowed in the garden and common terrace, where the ashtrays are.

12. Is there a mandatory silent time?

No. We ask our guests to minimize noise between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m. The volume of any sound, conversations or activities in your room should not disturb the rest of the other guests.

13. Are children welcome?

Children over 12 years are welcome to stay with their parents or legal representative. The rooms admit a maximum of two people. There are no extra beds.

14. Are pets allowed?

We really like pets but we cannot host them inside the Guesthouse. Pipo, our little dog, is a bit jealous and likes to have all the attention.

15. Does Guesthouse have laundry and ironing service?

Yes. Guesthouse has an outside laundry and ironing service, which collect your clothes and deliver in 48 horas. This service has an additional cost. Laundry is not allowed inside the rooms or facilities as well as drying on terraces, balconies or common areas.

16. Is there a place to store sports equipment such as bicycle, boards and wetsuit?

Yes. There is an area for storing sports equipment. This service is free. It is not allowed to store bicycles, boards and wetsuits inside the rooms.

17. Can I reach Eco Soul Ericeira Guesthouse by public transportation?

We really do not recommend this option. Public transportation in this area is limited and this can make you lose a lot of time travelling during your holidays. Anyway, if for any reason you prefer not to rent a car, then we will leave the tips here. The bus stop is 15 minutes away from Eco Soul Ericeira Guesthouse. Buses pass every hour to Ericeira or Sintra. There is no direct line to Lisbon. To come from Lisbon you must take the bus at Sete Rios Station or Campo Grande Station to Ericeira Bus Terminal. Consult the bus timetables in the Mafrense company: www.mafrense.pt In Ericeira you should take another bus to Sintra and get off at the stop “Cruz. Baleia”. You will see the “Chapéu Preto Restaurante” on the corner and the indication to São Julião beach. Follow the signs to São Julião beach and walk for approximately 10 minutes until you find the indication “Barril”. Walk another 200 meters and you will find a sign on your left to Rua do Centro do Barril. Walk 100 meters and turn right following the sign to Barril de Baixo. You will see the Eco Soul Ericeira Guesthouse sign 300 meters away. Continue along Rua do Barril de Baixo until you reach number 30. Then turn left on Praceta Barril de Baixo. The Eco Soul Ericeira Guesthouse will be on your right.
